[Anime Music Spotlight]: Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu – Perfect Area Complete

Let me start off by saying that this isn’t really the type of music I normally listen to. Many of Baka to Test’s OP and ED tracks are similar to this though and I really enjoy most of them.

Sometimes it’s nice to listen to something that’s really upbeat. Perfect Area Complete is Baka to Test’s first OP.

Watching the Baka and Test OPs always make me smile.

I’m also a fan of the first ED of the first season: “Baka Go Home”. I think it just perfectly encapsulates the “celebration of male idiocy” aspect of the series, which I frankly think is the more entertaining facet than the girlish romcom aspects emphasised by the pop song EDs. (The song itself is too noisy and rambunctious for my tastes, though!)

In conclusion, Baka and Test’s music is something that’s really enhanced by the visuals and the context. I feel that’s true for all anime, but for me Baka and Test falls into that particularly,

“Baka Go Home” is also on my list, so it’ll make it onto the site eventually 😉

I also really enjoy the visuals of the Baka to Test OPs and EDs, even if some of the music isn’t to my tastes. I find the upbeat OPs to be refreshing, though “Baka Go Home” was the only ED I liked.

It’s interesting that you mention the idea of the OP/ED song fitting the anime well even if you don’t like the song itself. It’s not something I notice often because I tend to skip the ones with songs I don’t like >.<
