[Anime Music Spotlight]: Fate/Stay Night – Disillusion

I think it’s safe to say that, whether you’re talking anime or visual novels, Fate/Stay Night is pretty well known. If you’ve been here for a while you will already know that I prefer the latter over the former, though when it comes to the opening music I feel that the anime prevails.

Disillusion is the first OP for the Fate/Stay Night anime, being slightly different from the visual novel OP of the same name.

Firstly, the OP itself:

And then the full song (skip to 20 seconds in…the intro is horrendously long):

*Edit*: 123 pointed out in the comments that there’s a new, slightly more amped-up version that was recorded for Type-Moon’s tenth anniversary:

Forgotten how good this song is – just added to my playlist 😀

Quite like this song, it’s got this really chilled vibe to it :-). My fav part is the saxophone solo (or whatever the instrument is).

Also, there’s a cover of it called “THIS ILLUSION”, for the Type-Moon 10th anniversary. It’s pretty cool if you don’t mind electo-ey stuff. Nice bassline. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-ls0ImvCUY

I’ve got another saxophone song coming up, so look forward to it!

I like the song but I think I prefer this version. The new one is a bit too full-on for my liking. Didn’t stop me from grabbing the MP3 though 😉
